Most awesome!
Tree in the front yard: Hurricane Irene’s winds must have cracked it from the heft of the weight on top of the very tall tree (at least a 5 story tree). It’s split down the trunk. The left side is going over the top of the power lines. The right side faces our front left porch and 2nd and attic rooms. We have called Hudson Power & Light, Hudson Public Works and I have posted this to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and emailed photos to all of the above. I hope it doesn’t come down on someone driving down the street, or on our house. It’s super scary. This is a very old, very tall tree. We have had so much rain, it’s been bringing down trees everywhere because of the ground saturation. I’m 2 houses up from the Assabet River, so of course, all the ground is wet, as the water table is only a little bit down from where we sit.
I recorded this version of “Furr” by Blitzen Trapper in Indio, California before their performance at Coachella in 2009. It was late morning and the band was barely coherent when they walked in the door. They removed their guitars from their cases, gathered around my three microphones, and this is what came out. Extraordinary…
I wish I could have been at this…
